About this event

Scott Leland Crossen from the Google Firestore team is flying in to present at our meetup.

Scott will start by covering Cloud Firestore at an introductory level, and then discuss the data model and rules language with a focus on how to develop, test, and use them in your app.

Cloud Firestore is a realtime NoSQL database offered by Google that can be accessed directly from any client. It has a unique data model and a rules-governing permission system.

Speaker bio:
As an undergraduate at Brigham Young University, Scott studied condensed matter physics with an emphasis in quantum computation. After receiving his second major in CS and launching a SaaS startup, Scott now works for Google’s Firebase Backend Infrastructure team. He enjoys backpacking, cycling and shining lasers at stuff. Interestingly, Scott also has an identical twin brother that works for Facebook.

p.s. talks from Google engineers are always good :)
