About

The Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) at IPB University was first established and officially launched on March 13, 2018, by its founding Lead, Vito Rizki Imanda, from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB. During its early days, GDSC IPB organized various workshops and small competitions as part of its programs. However, following Vito’s leadership, the club entered a dormant phase from 2019 to 2023 due to the absence of a successor. Leadership was eventually resumed by Muhammad Rizki Agus Salim from the Software Engineering Technology Program, Vocational School. Under his guidance, GDSC IPB successfully organized more than four events, both online and offline, with notable highlights including a collaboration with HIMAVO Micro-IT to host the national ITFEST 2024 competition dan Road to Devfest Bogor 2023 collaborating with GDG Bogor. Additionally, community engagement grew significantly, with membership on the GDG platform reaching 320 members.

In line with its new direction, the Google Developer Group on Campus (GDGoC) for 2024–2025 is driven by the vision “Progressing Beyond the Capacity.” Its mission focuses on fostering an educational and learning community, validating individual skills and progress, facilitating collaboration with other GDGoC chapters and campuses, and building a high-quality, inclusive, exclusive, and sustainable community. GDGoC aims to serve as a platform where students from IPB University and beyond can collaborate and advance their knowledge in technology, regardless of their academic backgrounds.

Next, the leadership was passed to Ekky Mulia Lasardi from the Software Engineering Technology Program. Under his leadership, GDGOC IPB achieved a series of significant milestones.

A total of 18 events were successfully held, including one international collaboration between Indonesia and the Philippines, as well as a joint event with GDGOC chapters across Jabodetabek. GDGOC IPB also successfully organized an offline event in collaboration with GDGOC UI.

In addition, the first open-source MCP product in GDGOC Indonesia was successfully developed. Member participation within GDGOC IPB grew rapidly — from 320 members to 616 members.
