Google Developer Group (GDG) Belgrade officially launched on June 12, 2025, with a mission to bring together developers, designers, students, and tech enthusiasts across Serbia. As part of the global GDG network, our chapter was founded to serve as a platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation centered around Google technologies and the broader tech landscape.
Since its formation, GDG Belgrade has focused on building a strong foundation rooted in inclusivity, technical growth, and community empowerment, while fostering close collaboration with student chapters and the broader developer ecosystem in the region.
Our vision is to build a diverse and inclusive tech community in Belgrade that enables long-term growth, supports local innovation, and connects developers with global opportunities.
We operate on four core pillars:

Our event programming is structured around quarterly themes, combining technical deep-dives, networking opportunities, and project-based learning. These include:
Introductory Sessions – Kickstarting the GDG year with community orientation and planning
Tech Workshops – Skill-building in Angular, Google Cloud, Flutter, ML/AI, and more
Hackathons – Collaborative events that blend technical challenge, mentorship, and creativity
Speaker Panels & Conferences – Expert talks, community spotlights, and cross-discipline sessions
The GDG Belgrade × GDGoC University of Belgrade Mentorship Program is a cornerstone of our community development strategy. Designed to support students and early-career professionals, the program includes:
Structured Mentorship Cycles – Spanning three quarters with regular check-ins
One-on-One Pairings – Mentors from the local tech ecosystem matched with GDGoC students based on shared goals and skills
Workshops & Milestone Reviews – Goal-setting, communication skills, and professional development sessions
Project Collaboration – Optional tracks to build and showcase technical projects
The program is centrally managed and supported through tools for scheduling, feedback, and engagement tracking.
Our partnership with the Google Developer Group on Campus University of Belgrade plays a critical role in shaping the future of tech in the region. Through this collaboration, we aim to:
Co-organize events such as hackathons, tech talks, and project showcases
Provide access to mentorship, speaker resources, and technical training
Encourage student leadership and continuity between academic and professional development stages

GDG Belgrade is the local chapter of the global Google Developer Group program. We are a volunteer-driven tech community focused on learning, networking, and building with Google technologies and beyond.
Anyone with an interest in technology—students, professionals, designers, developers, entrepreneurs, or hobbyists—is welcome! No matter your skill level, you're invited to learn, collaborate, and grow with us.
Both! GDGoC (Google Developer Group on Campus) is geared specifically toward university students and works closely with GDG Belgrade. Students can participate in both communities and benefit from shared mentorship, events, and resources.
We’re always looking for passionate individuals to help with event planning, community management, design, logistics, or technical content. You can contact us through the platform or connect with us at an upcoming event to learn more.
Our events include technical workshops, speaker panels, hackathons, mentorship meetups, community socials, and flagship programs like DevFest and Google I/O Extended. Most events are free and open to all.

It’s a multi-month mentorship initiative pairing GDGoC students with professionals in tech. Mentors help mentees set goals, develop projects, and build real-world skills, with support from GDG Belgrade organizers and workshops throughout the year.
