About this event

Join us in welcoming Martin Omander talk about Writing Your First App for Google Home!

Google Home is a voice-activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant. While the Assistant is good at answering general questions, you can make Google Home even smarter by building your own app for it and publishing that app to the world. In this session we will go through the steps to do just that, including how to tune the AI, starting from a blank slate.

Martin Omander works for Google in Mountain View, California. His job in the Developer Relations team is to support awesome developer communities, like the Google Developer Groups. On his spare time he manages to sneak in some programming, usually writing HTML5 apps running on top of Firebase. Before Google, Martin worked at string of startups in Silicon Valley as a software engineer.
