Have a great app idea? Want to to learn how to build it?

Women Who Code DC is holding an introductory workshop for building mobile applications on Android and iOS. The goal is to build a basic weather application using native development tools and integrate with a public API. We'll even provide food and refreshments so you don't go hungry!

Attendees do not need to have any mobile experience, but should be comfortable with general developer tools, such as an IDE orworking from the command line. Familiarity with a programming language and concepts is preferred. If you already have some mobile experience, feel free to join us at 6:30 for the intermediate course.

Our events are geared towards women, but we welcome everyone who supports our mission of inspiring women to excel in technology careers and follows our code of conduct.

Our Instructors:
Hosted by the engineering team that built the award-winning Capital One mobile apps, you will learn best-practices and tips from seasoned engineers.

Pre-requisites:

Everyone:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Valid government ID (for registration and building access)
- Laptop, charger, mobile phone, and any necessary device cables

Android:
- Android Studio 3.3.2 installed

iOS:
- Xcode 10.2 installed
- Create Apple Developer account (register for free at https://developer.apple.com)

Agenda:
4:00 - 5:30: Introductory course
5:30 - 6:30: Break, with food and refreshments
6:30 - 8:30: Intermediate course
8:30 - 9:00: Advanced topic discussion, Q&A, networking, wrap up

Event cost:
Free, but donations accepted at womenwhocode.com/donate and all proceeds will benefit Women Who Code DC.
