Your GDG-DC organizer team is so excited to continue the AI / ML meetup series into 2019! This year we will attempt to have one of these a month and add additional events and insights.

Title: Human-centered AI systems

Description: With the rapid advances in AI/ML and their potential to transform user experience/outcomes are starting to catch everybody's imagination. Entrepreneurs and organizations are developing and applying ML models to use cases in a variety of sectors. When designed right, AI systems and products are socially beneficial, avoid creating/reinforcing unfair bias, and are accountable to people. By building AI systems with users in mind from the ground up, we open up entire new areas of design and interaction. This talk will outline principles and strategies for designing human-centered, “responsible” AI systems and products.

Parking:
There is free parking at the original Capital One Headquarters building (1680 building, as they have not opened parking to the new building yet, which is where the meetup is). Park there, then walk towards the largest Capital One building (1600 building). Take the first floor elevator to the 7th floor and walk around the floor until you see Maplewood Hall on the right hand side. No need to sign in.
