Speaker: Jared Sylvester, Lead Data Scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton

Abstract: Ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

About the Speaker: Jared Sylvester joined Booz Allen Hamilton in 2014 as a member of the Strategic Innovation Group, where he has been doing machine learning research focusing on cybersecurity applications and neuromorphic computing. Prior to that he got his doctorate in AI at the University of Maryland, working in both the Computer Science Department doing neural network cognitive modeling, and the Marketing department doing social network analytics. He lives in Ellicott City, Maryland with his wife, two toddlers, and a terrier. He enjoys algorithmic art, calligraphy, bread baking and wood working.

Speaker: Megan Yetman, Data Engineer at Capital One

Abstract: Deep Learning and Improved Recall in Natural Language Processing.

About the Speaker:
Megan Yetman joined Capital One in 2016 and is a Machine Learning Engineer within the Center for Machine Learning. She has a BA and MS in Statistics from the University of Virginia. Megan has experience working on a variety of projects including NLP, bayesian inference, and anomaly detection. She currently uses network analytics for risk assessment.
