NETWORKING EVENT
6:00pm - 8:00pm

The viaduct is down, come check out our new view!

Join us for food and drinks as the Metis team celebrates women in data science with local women's tech groups, the Seattle tech community in general, Metis students/alumni and Metis staff.

This event is open to everyone.

Metis is committed to creating a culture of inclusion and diversity within the exciting and growing field of data science.

The Advancing Women in Data Science Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship for people who identify as women and are interested in pursuing a Data Science career.

At Metis, we believe in encouraging and enabling women to enter the data science field. Since we started in the Fall of 2014, we’ve given more than $700k in scholarships to women attending our bootcamp. However, the gender disparity that exists within the industry, and is still prevalent within our classrooms, has prompted us to expand our efforts.

In 2018, women still only represent 15% of the workforce within the data science field 1, and there is still a huge gender disparity in tech 2 overall. This is why, in an effort to help women pursue a career in Data Science, Metis is offering 4 full scholarships 3 to women in the Seattle and Chicago (2 in each city) area whom have applied and been accepted to the Metis Data Science Bootcamp.
