About this event

Greetings, fellow GDG'ers! Come join us for another session with two informational talks while we enjoy pizza and drinks courtesy of TekSystems and raffle off our monthly prizes.

Overview of Google Big Data (Kyle Siler)
We're going to learn how to process Big Data using Google technologies. I'll cover how to ingest data, process it, analyze our results, and visualize our output.

About the speaker
Kyle Siler is a mild-mannered Java Developer by day, crazed GDG organizer by night.

Angular reference variables and custom directives (Alain Chautard)
In this talk, Alain will talk about template reference variables as well as demonstrate how to create custom directives in Angular. We will see how directives can be used and how these two different features of the framework can actually work together to bring some interesting possibilities to your application.

About the speaker
Alain is a Google Developer Expert in Web Technologies / Angular. He started working with Angular JS in 2011.
Since then he has worked with all Angular versions on a daily basis, both as a developer and as a technical trainer.
He is the organizer of the Sacramento Angular Meetup group, co-organizer of the Google Developer Group chapter in Sacramento, California, conference speaker, and published author of the Packt video course “Getting Started with Angular“."
