Title: Open Data 101 using NYC open data to build smart cities
Speaker:
Ralph Yozzo - Open Data Advocate
Abstract:
There is a lot of open data in government and New York City is the biggest open data source. Come and learn about many of the datasets and what you can do to build web applications to make the data accessible to everyone. For example, https://tax.tidalforce.org/ takes the New York City Assessment Roll and graphs it and allows you to compare between properties.
There are 1000's of datasets and you can build any web application based on government data and help build the smart city of tomorrow, today.
It is also Budget season and we will study the state of open data with respect to transparency and efficiency.
Bring your questions and applications.
