Google's Women Techmakers program provides visibility, community, and resources for women in technology.

Our 2020 celebration of International Women's Day in Denver is is going to be amazing, and back in the beautiful space at GoSpotCheck.

The theme this year is #TogetherWeRise

Here is what you can expect at the Denver event on Thursday March 19, 2020:

- Hosted by local tech star Laurie Linz

- Technical talk by Twilio SendGrid software engineer Hannah Apuan (topic: TensorFlow, Machine Learning)

- Lightning talk by Workiva software engineer Laura Meckley (topic: How to build better products - pay attention to your users)

- Comedy show by Kate Strobel with women comics to be announced

- We will have food sponsored by (company that at this time "cannot commit to ... sponsorship")

- Wine tasting will be back by popular demand, with a Sommelier, brought to you by Google Developer Group Denver

- Door prizes

Hannah Apuan is a software engineer at Twilio SendGrid, where she works in Golang on building and improving account identity. She enjoys most approaching difficult technical problems in creative ways and educating younger generations and minorities on the software engineering field. When she's not working, she enjoys drawing and spending time with her cat, Maverick.

About Laura Meckley

Laura is a software engineer and leader of the Women in Tech group at Workiva. She is an avid snowboarder, foodie, and enjoys traveling.

About Kate Strobel

Kate Strobel is a Denver-based comedian known for her honest and unique voice that hilariously grapples with what it's like to be socially awkward and perpetually anxious. Kate has been a Semi Finalist in the Comedy Works New Faces contest, and has been featured on Denver's most beloved showcases including Lucha, Libre & Laughs. You can see Kate perform on showcases all around Denver.
