About this event

This will be a collaborative study group focused on Flutter, specifically, stepping through the two halves of the “Build Native Mobile Apps with Flutter” course from Udacity. No prior experience required but you will be contacted with information to get your personal computer set up for success. There will be three sessions total with the last session being a showcase of something you have built with Flutter or discussion of Flutter topics that would benefit from a group environment. We will also replay some of the December 4th Flutter Live 2018 event from London.

This study jam will be led by David Baron, a 34-year veteran of software development, starting with client-server systems on the original Mac 128, and currently working on enterprise-wide web apps for one of the country’s largest defense and technology companies. For his private endeavors, and as a lover of software and tools, he would like to settle on a single tool that will allow him to build native apps for both mobile platforms, without compromise, and with enough ‘charm’ to make the whole process enjoyable. Flutter may just be that tool.

Flutter is Google’s mobile app SDK for crafting high-quality native interfaces on iOS and Android in record time. Flutter works with existing code, is used by developers and organizations around the world, and is free and open source.

Want to get started on building Flutter apps?

Join us for our Flutter Study Jam! Together we'll work through Flutter Udacity Course prepared by Google instructors. You will be able to get hands-on experience with Flutter and build a Flutter app while learning the fundamentals..

Bring a laptop! The course will run on all of the latest versions of the popular browsers. For the best experience, the laptop should have Flutter installed on it prior to starting the study jam to save time. Windows/Linux/Mac would all be fine. Check out :
