Jessica Forde is a machine learning researcher focusing on the empirical study of deep learning models to improve their reliability in high stakes domains, such as health care. She has experience in model pruning at Facebook AI Research, and has collaborated with fellow data scientists at McKinsey and DARPA. She has also helped maintain open source projects such as the Jupyter Notebook and supported the open science movement to improve transparency and accountability in machine learning.Jessica is visiting Australia in September as a guest of the United States Consulate. Google is hosting this talk at Google's offices and has invited any members of the GDG for Science to attend, either virtually or in-person.
