Bio:
Charlotte-born D. Richard Hipp is the creator and lead developer for SQLite - the most used database engine in the world. After taking a Ph.D. from Duke University with a dissertation in AI in 1992, Richard started a small company that developed bespoke software for solving hard problems. That company later evolved into the team that now supports SQLite. Richard lives in the Highland Creek neighborhood in north Charlotte. He is a frequent invited speaker at workshops, conferences, and lectures around the world.
