About this event

The Gemini Hackathon is a month-long hackathon focused on harnessing the power of generative AI through Gemini to develop innovative solutions for critical global issues related to health, climate change, environmental problems, and eco-friendly solutions. This event aims to bring together talented developers, data scientists, and AI enthusiasts to collaborate and create cutting-edge applications or tools that address real-world challenges.

Let your idea come to life by attending! Participants are encouraged to develop applications or tools that address issues related to health, climate change, environmental problems, and eco-friendly solutions. Solutions could range from climate modelling, and pollution monitoring, to eco-friendly lifestyle applications.

The communications will be happening on the official Google Discord: https://discord.gg/google-dev-community in these 2 channels:

1. #gdc-gemini-hackathon-24: https://discord.com/channels/1009525727504384150/1224728234961404104

REQUIREMENTS

You must have a public GitHub repository with the code & start writing the code only during the hackathon.

As for the submission itself, you need to make sure your submission uses Generative AI effectively. For example, you can’t build a regular app and then have Gemini shoved in there last minute for, say, username generation.

You need to leverage Gemini’s capabilities to create impactful generative AI applications / tools. Your solution should also have the right amount of complexity in the solution to a problem. For example, a Gemini powered to-do list on cutting down on carbon footprint is not all that creative. Your project should be a direct reflection of your team's depth of understanding and creativity. Remember, the top winner gets to skip a huge chunk of the Google for Startups application process. Do you think your idea would be suitable for a startup? Plan accordingly!

Use the right tools for the job. Do you really need all that potential bloat? Do you need more tools? Your project should demonstrate your team's ability to integrate different tools and frameworks. Your super cool app might not be best suited for the command line.
