About this event

Join us as Patrick Fuentes walks through an introduction on using Firebase on Android. We'll briefly survey the variety of Firebase tools Google provides before diving deeper into Firebase Realtime Database Storage.

We'll be working with through a code lab from Google, and you're encouraged (but not required) to work along if you have a laptop available. If you'd like to follow along, please have Android Studio installed and working, and feel free to download the sample code† in advance. If you're having problems, we can help out.

Tentative Schedule:

6:00 - Food and networking*

6:20 - Welcome and announcements

6:30 - Intro to the topic.  Short introduction to the variety of Firebase tools, and jumping into the workshop.

8:00 - Adjourn / Go dig into Android development

*please show up as close to on time as possible.  The Nerdery is generous with their space after business hours.  Early arrivals cannot be accommodated.  If you need to travel early, there are a number of great coffee shops, restaurants, and bars in the area.*
