About this event

Please join us at The Nerdery for an intro of Firebase, the Real-Time database.

Tentative Schedule 6PM - Doors open*, Snacks, Socializing and Networking

6:30 - Welcome and start of the talk. "Hands on Intro to Firebase".  - Lloyd Lentz

Google's Firebase is many things, with no overhead. A realtime database, authentication, security and web-hosting, plus many many more. The realtime aspect of the database, and the ease of implementation make it a great tool to teach client-side web apps. Though it does have a full plug in integration for iOS and Android. It is also so fast and easy to setup it is more often my first choice for proof of concept ideas within our department. I will walk through an overview of what the technology is, why it has become my goto for most new projects and even do short hand on demo to exemplify why it is so easy. Bring a laptop and follow along.

Done by 8PM.

*Please plan on showing up as soon to 6PM as possible.  The Nerdery graciously hosts our group after their regular business hours.  Their volunteer staff will not be available to handle early arrivals.  Let's show them how GDG TC are the best guests they could hope to host.  :)
