About this event

GDG Tucson will be launching a sustainability series this year. Join us as we discover how technology can be used to achieve the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).

This month's virtual meeting addresses SDG #2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

12.4% of Arizona households are food insecure, meaning they are uncertain of having, or unable to acquire, at some time during the year, enough food to meet the needs of all their members because they had insufficient money or other resources for food. This is nearly 2% higher than the national average and will certainly increase as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Inspired by the Geo for Good Summit that was held virtually this month, we are going to take a look at mapping tools to visualize various aspects of this critical issue in our community. Join us to learn more about hunger in AZ and about Google's Geo tools.
