Ann-Marie Horcher has a PhD from Nova Southeastern University in Information Systems Security. Prior to her PhD, she worked as an information architect for a large chemical company for twenty years. She served on committees of industry professionals that wrote some of the early certification exams. Currently she is the program director for cybersecurity studies within the College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University and created their curriculum. Her most recent research is in using Virtual Personal Assistants (VPAs) like Google Home and Alexa to provide information in a secure, private and usable manner to all segments of users, and in designing usable mobile cybersecurity. She uses Google products such as Firebase and Angular to develop applications to support research, create CTF games, and collect research data.
