Hands-on Virtual Reality: Google Cardboard and Unity

About this event

If you've ever watched Aladdin, you'll remember the lyrics "A whole new world... a new fantastic point of view". That's what Google Cardboard is like the first time you experience it. Tonight, you can learn how to build VR experiences with Cardboard for others!

Join us in the world of virtual reality as we run not one, but TWO hands-on codelabs with Google Cardboard.

At 6:00 PM, Dan Scott will walk you through the process of capturing 360° images and posting them to the web so that they can be viewed on the desktop, with mobile browsers, and in Google Cardboard.

At 7:00 PM, Steve Forbes will take the lead and show you how to take what you learned about Unity from our last event, and combine that with the Cardboard SDK for Unity to build an Android application that works in Cardboard.

Bring a laptop and an Android device if you have one. We'll have a few Cardboard-compatible viewers for you to try out your creations.
