Hiranya earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from University of Moratuwa. He also received a Ph.D. in computer science from University of California, Santa Barbara. Hiranya’s dissertation focuses on the governance of cloud applications via policies, SLOs and programming language techniques. He has published original research in numerous peer-reviewed journals and conferences specialized in cloud computing and web services
