Dr. Jeevani W. Jayasinghe has been a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronics of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka since 2014 after serving 6 years as a Lecturer. Previously, she worked in the industry for more than 2 years as an Engineer.
She obtained PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University of Peradeniya with a Research Fellowship at Ramon Llull University, Barcelona, Spain and she is soon to be designated as a Professor. She was a Visiting Fellow of Macquarie University, NSW, Australia in the Autumn 2018.
Dr. Jayasinghe pioneered the establishment of the Faculty of Technology and served as the Founding Head of the Departments of Engineering Technology and Construction Technology. Currently, she is the Head of the Department of Electrotechnology.
She has visited universities and institutions in Spain, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Nepal and Australia for academic or research activities or conferences. Her research interests include the design of antennas and genetic algorithm optimization.
She is the Secretary of IEEE Sri Lanka Section and she was the Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Sri Lanka Section in 2018. De. Jeevani has won the Most Outstanding Young Researcher Merit award at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka in 2017 and has supervised several students.
She has research affiliations with universities in various countries, authored several book chapters and international journal papers and has contributed to capacity building of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka as well. She is a senior member of IEEE as well as an associate member of IESL.
