About this event

Badging and RSVP policy: Please help us with badging and sign-up for this Meetup with your first and last name by answering the question during RSVP. That way we can print out the badges ahead of time and speed up the sign-in process.  Thanks!

We would also like to reiterate our RSVP policy: If you are on the waitlist and we think the event venue will be at or close to capacity you will have to wait until 6:45 before we allow you into the room. If you are RVSPd we will keep your spot available until 15 minutes before the announcements, after that your spot will be given to someone present on the waitlist. If the room is filled at anytime earlier, we will deny entrance.

Schedule:

6:00-6:50pm Networking and light food

6:50-7:00pm Announcements

7:00-8:30pm Self paced Cloud code lab workshop with support from Jen Tong, Robert Kluin and your organizers

Workshops: For this Meetup we will be using a different setup. We will go though some self paced online code labs. So please have a laptop ready and bring your own power cord. Depending on which code labs you choose, it might be necessary to have an existing Google GCP account or you may sign up for one at the event. Jen, Robert and we the organizers will be around to help as needed.

Bio: Jen is a Developer Advocate on Firebase at Google. In this role she helps developers build realtime stuff on all sorts of platforms. If she's away from her laptop, she's probably skating around a roller derby track, or hanging from aerial silk.

Bio: Robert is a programmer who's passionate about cloud technologies. For the past five years he has focused on distributed computing. Robert particularly enjoys problems related to data processing; and has been developing high-performance stream processing systems since 2008 and batch-oriented processing systems since 2004. He actively works with companies to help them solve challenging business problems by leveraging technologies such as Google App Engine and Google Compute Engine. He loves sharing his knowledge and experiences with others by giving talks and training sessions. Robert's programming languages of choice are: Python, Go, and Rust.
