It is about fostering, through shared knowledge, a data-aware and data-savvy culture. Ask better questions about data, enable strategic investment in data, promote data education and instill a sense of data ownership within the organization

In the end it does not matter if you are forced by regultation or are intrinsically motivated to be a better data custodian. Either way your organization wil win with data, be it defensive or offensive!
