Welcome to the first iteration of our merged meetup!

Per our new format, we will have two talks this month.

Our first talk will be on JavaScript Promises.  Promises help us write cleaner and more organized asynchronous code.  We will learn about what promises are, how to use them in our code, and some of the current promise libraries available.  We will also look at some common anti-patterns and interesting ways of using promises.

We will also look at the Reactive Extensions for JavaScript. RxJS is a set of libraries to compose asynchronous and event-based programs using observable collections and Array#extras style composition in JavaScript. The project is actively developed by Microsoft, in collaboration with a community of open source developers.

And, as usual, we'll have pizza and beverages served courtesy of TekSystems and will draw our monthly raffle.
