About this event

It is that time of year again - the DevFest season is upon us!

As it has become a tradition by now, we are happy to announce another installment of annual GDG Sacramento DevFest hackathon.

Based on the latest trends and your feedback after our talk a couple of months ago, we're focusing on Progressive Web Apps this time.

If you've never heard of PWAs before, now is a great chance to learn! It's not just about being mobile-friendly anymore. Progressive Web Apps go a few steps further to enhance the user experience. We will discuss and work on such topics as security, adding your web app to user's home screen, push notifications, and responsiveness, as time permits.

You are welcome and greatly encouraged to contribute your own code during our session. But if you would prefer to focus on observing and learning instead, that's perfectly fine too! We'll have a big screen with live coding throughout the whole event.

Join us to hang out in a relaxed live coding atmosphere, learn some new PWAs tricks or teach others about it, and participate in a raffle with great prizes at the end.

This is a full day event and lunch will be provided courtesy of TekSystems. We will also have coffee and bagels served in the morning. So all you have to do is show up!

Feel free to comment here or contact us directly if you have any questions about the event.
