Ola is a TechWomen fellow and an Emerging Leader for 2018, an Egyptian, born and raised in Saudi Arabia and has been living in Germany since 2018. In Egypt, Ola graduated as a dentist but soon discovered her passion for teaching and stem cell research. She then landed a teaching and research position in dental tissue engineering and regenerative medicine at Alexandria University. Through which she received a DAAD scholarship to do her masters research in Germany, where she later came back for her current Ph.D. position. Ola is specifically interested in intercultural diversity, inclusion, and in reaching a safe space for mutual understanding amongst nations. Alongside her PhD, Ola works as a cultural tutor and student advisor at Hamburg University. She also volunteers in her free time as a personal german translator for refugees and non-integrated Arabs, as well as English speakers in Germany. In her free time, Ola likes to practice yoga, read books, and spend time with her friends and family.
