6:10 PM: The State of Firebase in 2020

Firebase is a great suite of tools for mobile and web developers, that provides databases, quality and engagement products as well as serverless functions and machine learning options. With 20 products to help you create amazing apps, I will go through what's new in Firebase from the recent Firebase Summit, look into the most exciting tools and products, and discuss any must know changes for anyone using Firebase. In the end, we will know what it's like using Firebase in 2020 and how it helps us build better mobile and web apps.

6:50 PM: From Events to Insights: Using Google Analytics 4 at Luno

On the 14th of October 2020, Google announced the release of the new Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property, previously known as App + Web (beta). This new GA4 property allows companies to easily track their customer journeys across platforms using an event-based measurement model. In this talk we'll walk through how Luno, a leading global cryptocurrency company, is making use of GA4 to enhance their latest product offering: The BTC Savings Wallet.

P-J, who is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a Google Developer Expert for Firebase and Freelance Mobile Engineer. In his free time he does a little photography and enjoys travelling.

Shannon Sass - Luno

Shannon is a Commonwealth Scholar with an MSc Social Statistics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is currently working as a Data Science Associate at Luno and is an aspiring leader in the digital analytics space. She is also a new resident of Strasbourg, France and would not recommend moving overseas during a global pandemic.
