About this event

At the beginning of last year a new set of innovations in phone and laptop form factors started to appear. We’ve seen new devices that include two hinge-connected screens or a single foldable display. These new innovations unlock a new level of productivity and convenience for the user.

However, to fully take advantage of these devices, applications and websites need to leverage the new screen estate provided, as well as adopt new interaction patterns.

As manufacturers are shipping these devices, the web platform community is hard at work on making sure that web developers can fully leverage dual screens, foldables and delight their customers as soon as possible.

In this presentation we will cover the problem space, showing the particularities of interactions with these new form factors. We will also cover the current efforts to bring new APIs and features to the web platform through cross-industry collaboration.
