Main Talk: Saving Data by Travis Himes
Do you need to remember something your user has done? How about something they tried to do but weren’t able to because of connectivity, or other reasons? Shared Preferences, Local Files, Context Providers, Google Drive, maybe even Parse and probably Firebase. There are myriad of options when it comes time to save data in the Android world. In this talk we’ll cover some of the more common, or at least the ones most interesting to your speaker (there may even be some not in this list!). There will be slides, there will be code, there will be bad jokes and probably some stunt coding - things you won’t necessarily want to save… Come see some of the different ways you can save data though!
Travis has been doing Android development for the past 5 years, and before that, a lot of Java development. He’s worked on multiple apps that have gotten lots of (positive) attention in the android world, most recently the DramaFever app was mentioned on MaterialUp. Travis has spoken at a few conferences as well. He’s happy to talk about whatever, and sometimes difficult to get to stop talking.
