🚀 GDGoC-HCMUS AI Challenge 2025

The GDGoC Club at HCMUS is proud to introduce the AI Challenge 2025, a creative academic competition exclusively for club members. This is a unique opportunity to challenge yourself, enhance your skills, and develop research thinking in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI)!

Main Themes:

💥 Blast Segmentation: Optimizing mining operations through post-explosion image analysis.

🌐 Multi-Lingual Document Translation: Developing a multilingual document translation solution that preserves structure and content.

Competition Format: This competition follows a real-world simulation in a role-play format. Each team consists of 4 members, who will take on the following roles:

•      Product Manager (PM): Interact with clients and manage the product.
•      AI Developer: Develop and optimize the AI model.
•      Data Engineer: Collect, process, and manage data.
•      UX/UI Designer: Design the user interface and user experience.

Team Formation:

You can form your own team (4 members) or register individually, and the organizers will match you with a team.

Competition Process:

•      Round 1 – Briefing and Role Assignment: Organizers provide the problem statement, and each team works with a "client" (played by the organizers).
•      Round 2 – Solution Development: Over 3 months, teams will develop their solutions, with feedback meetings from clients and training from mentors every 3-4 weeks.
•      Round 3 – Product Presentation: Submit and present the final product to the judges.

     🎯 Objective: Develop an automated system to analyze post-explosion images, improving mining efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing processes.

     ⚙️ Technical Requirements:

     Technologies: CNNs (U-Net, Mask R-CNN), OpenCV, PyTorch

     Implementation: Streamlit, Flask, React

   ⚡ Challenges:

•           Image processing in varying environmental conditions.
•           Ensuring fast and efficient large data analysis.

🌐 Multi-Lingual Document Translation

     🎯 Objective: Build a professional document translation solution that preserves the original format and ensures high accuracy.

     ⚙️ Technical Requirements:

     Technologies: Google Translate API, Tesseract OCR, DeepL API, PDFMiner, React

     Applications: Translating and processing PDF, DOCX, HTML files

   ⚡ Challenges:

•           Preserving complex layouts and formats.
•           Ensuring accurate translation of specialized languages.
