About this event

Join Google Developer Groups on Campus Universiti Sains Malaysia at "Build with AI" Study Jam. This event features a series of hands-on session with the guide from our speaker covering Google AI technologies, including Gemini, Vertex AI, and Google AI Studio.
Abstract:
In this study Jam, participants will create a document processing pipeline that will automatically process documents that are uploaded to Cloud Storage. The pipeline consists of a primary Cloud Run function that processes new files using a Document AI form processor to extract the data from the document. The function then saves the form data detected in those files to BigQuery.
Participants are provided with the source code for a Cloud Run function that will perform the processing, and they are expected to deploy the document processing pipeline as shown in the architecture below, making sure to correctly configure the components for your specific pipeline.

Introductory Session	This session covers the basics of Google Cloud's Document AI API and how it transforms unstructured data from documents and emails into structured, analyzable information. Participants will learn to use the general form processor to extract key-value pairs, make synchronous and asynchronous API calls via the Document AI Python client in Vertex AI Workbench, and use the general OCR parser. The session also introduces setting up a simple document processing pipeline using Cloud Storage and Cloud Run to automatically analyze uploaded documents.
