The 2025 GDG Solution Challenge is a regional competition for university students to solve real-world problems using Google technologies. This challenge is hosted by Google Developer Groups (GDGs) and encourages teams of students to create innovative, technical solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges faced by businesses and communities. The competition is designed to help students gain hands-on experience, build impactful projects, and demonstrate their skills to industry leaders.

Each student team is to select one of the provided challenge prompts to submit a technical solution using 1 or more Google technology.

Challenge Prompts:

  • Design an AI-driven platform that accurately aggregates and validates real-time compensation data for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologists (CRNAs) from diverse sources. The solution should leverage machine learning to identify trends and anomalies, presenting actionable insights through an intuitive dashboard while guaranteeing data security and user anonymity.

  • Design a predictive system that accurately forecasts localized power outages using real-time weather, environmental and historical data. The solution must deliver actionable, timely warnings to districts at-risk, enabling proactive preparation and optimized home energy storage management for enhanced resilience during disruptions.

  • Develop a robust, real-time voice-driven life insurance quoting agent using Google's Gemini Multimodal API that significantly improves user experience. The solution must accurately capture user voice input, reliably execute API function calls to retrieve real-time life insurance rates and deliver a seamless, natural conversational flow, addressing the current issues of sentence interruption, silence detection, turn management and unreliable function call execution. You will have access to the insurance API parameters/endpoint and the code for the current implementation.

  • Develop a system for real-time indexing and keyword search of thousands of concurrent live audio streams, enabling near-instant discovery of spoken content. The solution must achieve high accuracy and low latency while remaining scalable and cost-effective, supporting interactive features like live comments, tipping, and call-ins for live audio broadcasts and conversations.
