In this workshop, you will dive into the essentials of SQL databases using Supabase while building a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system with Gemini. We’ll start by covering the fundamentals of working with relational databases, including how to design tables with effective relationships to store data efficiently. You'll also explore Supabase's Blob storage to manage media files, such as images, directly within your database.
Through hands-on exercises, you'll learn how to connect to a database, set up tables, and use SQL commands to manage data. To bridge the gap between your database and application, we’ll introduce Express for building a RESTful API. This will include creating CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) endpoints, allowing for seamless interaction with your database. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a solid foundation in database-driven web applications and be prepared to implement a RAG system using Supabase and Gemini, combining robust data management with cutting-edge AI techniques. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to gain practical experience in modern database technology and explore the potential of AI-enhanced applications.
