SVR Engineering College organized an Info Session on GDG On-Campus on 11th September 2025 in the M.V. Seminar Hall of B Block. The session was graced by eminent dignitaries including Principal Dr. Y. Hari Prasad Reddy, Director Dr. P. Mallikarjuna Reddy, Managing Director Mr. S. Dinesh Reddy, and Faculty Advisor Mr. N. Rakesh Babu. The college had the privilege of welcoming Mr. S. Deepak, an alumnus of SVR Engineering College and the individual responsible for introducing the concept of GDG to the institution, as the Chief Guest of the occasion.
Key Proceedings The dignitaries in their respective addresses emphasized the importance of student clubs and technical communities like GDG (Google Developer Groups). The Principal, Director, and Managing Director collectively stressed that engineering education must go beyond the classroom and include hands-on experiences, peer learning, and exposure to global technological trends. Faculty Advisor Mr. N. Rakesh Babu reiterated the crucial role of faculty guidance in enabling the smooth functioning of student-led clubs
The Chief Guest, Mr. S. Deepak, delivered an inspiring address wherein he shared his personal journey as a former GDG (erstwhile GDSC) Lead. He narrated how his active participation in GDG reshaped his career path, helped him build a vast professional network, and provided opportunities to interact with thousands of students through guest lectures and interactive sessions across different institutions. He explained that the platform not only honed his technical expertise but also instilled confidence, leadership, and communication skills.
Deepak strongly urged his juniors to actively participate in GDG On-Campus activities and to utilize the community as a springboard for career transformation. He highlighted that consistent involvement in such initiatives could bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that students remain at par with evolving global standards
