🚀 Welcome Explorers, to the second annual SMCCCD intercollegiate hackathon! — a yearly historic collaborative effort between the Computer Science Clubs at both Skyline College and College of San Mateo and Canada College’s STEM Sector!

So, just what is our Hackathon?

🍎 Hackathons are cultural computer-sciency conventions that happen all the time around the world, with famous ones being hosted including CalHacks, HackHayward, LAHacks, SFHacks, and many more!

🏆 A hackathon is just like a marathon, but instead of running, you and a bunch of other friends and players are racing to build something cool—whether it be a small-scaled app, a website, a video game, and beyond!

💻 Whether you're a beginner, or are experience in the industry, it's the perfect event where programmers, designers, and idea people come together to create something fun all from scratch!

🎉 Our goal is to foster innovation, problem-solving, and learning through hands-on experience. And ultimately, it's to discover computer science—all while having fun! (and maybe winning prizes while doing so!)

As apart of this goal, we believe SMCCCD deserves its very own platform for fostering growth and exploration in computer/data science for college students across our shared college district. This brings us to our own hackathon: fittingly titled The Second SMCCCD Intercollegiate Hackathon.
