This in-person session gave freshers a deep dive into Google Developer Groups on Campus and Google’s plethora of powerful developer tools, to help kickstart their coding and development journey!
At the start of the event, we walked them through Google Developer Groups (GDG) on Campus, highlighting who we are and what we do. Freshers got an overview of our mission to build what truly matters. We also showcased the kinds of activities GDG hosts, ranging from technical workshops and hackathons to networking events and hands-on projects, giving participants a clear picture of the opportunities they can look forward to throughout the year.
Participants were then guided through essential platforms such as Firebase, TensorFlow, Flutter, and Google Colab, with each tool explained in the context of real-world applications. The session was highly interactive, featuring live demonstrations that showed how to quickly build apps, store and manage data, experiment with AI models, and streamline workflows in the cloud.
We also hosted a segment titled "Google Your Way To Hackathon Victory" on the same day, which focused on preparing students to excel in hackathons by making the best use of these remarkable resources. The speakers shared their first-hand experiences from national-level hackathons, highlighting success stories where participation led to wins and valuable internship opportunities, such as at JPMC Code for Good.
