Step Towards Competitive Programming was designed to introduce first-year

engineering students to the exciting world of competitive programming. This

weeklong event focused on building a strong foundation in problem-solving and

programming skills, while also familiarizing participants with various competitive

programming (CP) platforms.

The event took place from 2nd and 3rd of September 2024, with daily practice

problems crafted by our expert team to gradually increase the complexity and

challenge of each task. These problems were carefully curated to help participants

develop a problem-solving mindset, improve their coding skills, and get hands-on

experience with essential CP concepts.

One of the highlights of the event was the introduction to major CP platforms such

as Codeforces, CodeChef, and LeetCode, where participants learned how to

navigate these platforms, understand the scoring system, and practice with real

contest environments. Throughout the week, students received valuable guidance

from experienced mentors and got the opportunity to ask questions, collaborate

with peers, and enhance their understanding of key topics like data structures,

algorithms, and time complexity.
