Chatbot Crafts: Learn to Build Intelligent Chatbots, the first event in the inspiring "Learn and Build Series" organized by Women Tech Makers (WTM) REC, a vertical of Google Developer Groups Club (GDG) at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, set the stage for empowering women in technology through engaging discussions, hands-on learning, and real-life success stories.
The event featured two talented students, Jayashrinidhi, a 3rd-year AIML student, and Rakshana, a 2nd-year ECE student, who captivated an audience of enthusiastic girls with their expertise in building intelligent chatbots. Jayashrinidhi shared her knowledge on building chatbots with coding, while Rakshana demonstrated how to build chatbots without coding using Dialogflow.
The speakers shared their knowledge, highlighting the foundations of chatbot development, types of chatbots, natural language processing, and key NLP concepts. They provided a detailed overview of the chatbot development process, including defining objectives, choosing a platform, designing conversation flow, and deploying chatbots.
The event also included a hands-on session, where students were guided in building their own chatbots with and without coding. The speakers provided valuable resources, including online courses, platforms for practice, and industry tools, while discussing the significance of staying updated with emerging technologies.
The students were highly engaged throughout the session, participating actively in discussions, asking insightful questions, and successfully building their own chatbots. The event concluded with an inspiring message, encouraging the students to continue exploring the world of chatbot development, stay updated with emerging technologies, and leverage the opportunities available to them.
This inaugural episode was a resounding success, leaving the audience motivated and excited for the upcoming talks in the series. With over 70 students attending and more than 30 students retained throughout the 2-hour session, the event demonstrated the growing interest in AI and chatbot development among students.
