During the session, the core concept of the Google Developer Group (GDG) was introduced as a global community for anyone interested in technology—a place to learn, connect, and grow using Google technologies.
It was emphasized that the on-campus chapter at Nirma University brings this global initiative directly to students, establishing an open and inclusive hub for all, regardless of skill level. The main goal presented was to foster a culture of peer-to-peer learning where students can develop practical, real-world problem-solving skills. The session detailed how GDG would provide hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies like AI/ML, Web, and Cloud through workshops and hackathons. Ultimately, GDG was positioned as a platform for students to showcase innovation, network with industry professionals, and find a direct pathway to the larger tech ecosystem and Google initiatives.
