In this continuation of the Django Portfolio Website Workshop, we’ll take the project we built together—or help newcomers catch up by cloning the project repo—and publish it, making it accessible to anyone online.

In this workshop, you will:

• Use Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to deploy your backend via Cloud Run and manage static and media files with Cloud Storage

• Set up a Railway database for your project and connect it to your deployed app (we will also show you the GCP alternatives for the Database)

• Use a Dockerfile to containerize your application, ensuring portability and compatibility during deployment

• Have a fully live, accessible portfolio site you can share with potential employers or collaborators

All technologies we will use will be either free or part of free tiers/trials. 

For newcomers, we’ll provide the GitHub repo with the portfolio project built in the previous workshop so you can jump right into deployment. We do recomend, however, to check out the content of our previous event, the Django Portfolio Website Workshop, in case you could not attend it. You can find in its description a document with detailed steps to help you catch up with what we did so far.
