In today's session on Introduction to Cloud Computing, we explored the foundational aspects of cloud technology and its significance in the modern digital landscape. The session began by defining cloud computing as the delivery of computing services—including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, and analytics—over the internet (“the cloud”).

We examined the key advantages of cloud computing, such as scalability, cost-effectiveness, improved performance, and disaster recovery. A major focus was on understanding the three main service models:

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): Provides virtualized computing resources over the internet.

Platform as a Service (PaaS): Offers hardware and software tools over the internet, typically for application development.

Software as a Service (SaaS): Delivers software applications over the internet on a subscription basis.

Additionally, the session covered deployment models—public, private, hybrid, and multi-cloud—and discussed the scenarios in which each model is most effective. Real-world examples were provided to demonstrate how companies leverage cloud solutions to drive innovation and optimize operations.

The session concluded with a brief overview of major cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, along with a discussion on emerging trends in cloud computing, including serverless architectures and edge computing.
