Google Developer Groups On-Campus led by Anima Singh, Campus Organiser conducted an Introductory Session, familiarising the Core team members and also introducing the participants to Google Gen AI Study Jams.
The event commenced with an insightful session by Associate Dean SCSDF,
Dr. Parag Rughani, who underscored the critical importance of mastering the fundamentals of programming for effective malware analysis. He elaborated on how a solid understanding of these basics is essential for identifying and mitigating security threats. He also emphasised the significance of fostering a culture of mass contribution within the programming community, encouraging attendees to actively participate and share their knowledge.
Following this, Rudra Ponkshe, the Co-organiser of GDGoC NFSU, took the stage to introduce the audience to the Google Developer Groups (GDG) On campus . He provided a comprehensive overview of the club, explaining its mission and the numerous benefits it offers. He highlighted that the club provides students with a valuable platform to enhance their Google Cloud skills at no cost, promotes active contribution, and helps build a supportive community of like-minded individuals. He shared success stories of members who have significantly benefited from Google’s resources and networking opportunities.
Sai Vishwa, the Creative and Content Lead, introduced the core team members, highlighting their valuable skills and explaining how each would contribute to the club's future growth and success. He emphasised the unique strengths of every member and outlined their roles in driving the club's vision forward.
Next, we were introduced to the Programming Club at NFSU by Raja Sundar K . The presentation detailed the club’s active involvement in real-life projects, showcasing how it enables members to gain practical experience and learn by doing. The club’s initiatives were highlighted, demonstrating their commitment to fostering a hands-on learning environment where students can apply their theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems.
Rudra then surprised the attendees with an engaging Menti quiz. This interactive session featured questions covering a wide range of topics, including networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and system architecture. The quiz not only tested the participants’ knowledge but also provided a fun and competitive atmosphere, encouraging everyone to actively engage and learn.
Dean SCSDF, Professor Dr. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary Sir, then addressed the gathering, expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the previous team and the high-quality events they organised and emphasised how each future team should do better than previous one. He mentioned the importance of maintaining a diary for documenting events, programming activities, and learning experiences, also sharing personal anecdotes on how this practice has been instrumental in his professional journey, helping him track progress, reflect on learnings, and stay organised.
Faculty Advisor, Dr. Jay Teraiya Sir followed with an enlightening talk on the significance of coding in the industry. He discussed how most companies use coding tests as a primary screening tool for evaluating candidates, making it imperative for students to master data structures and algorithms (DSA). He provided tips on how to effectively prepare for these tests and shared resources that can help students improve their coding skills.
Towards the end of the event, Anima, the Organiser of GDG NFSU, took the stage to discuss past events and their outcomes. She provided a detailed overview of the various initiatives undertaken by GDG NFSU, highlighting their impact and success, also sharing exciting details about upcoming events, with a special focus on the Gen AI study jam. She and Bhaskar, the Tech lead, assisted student members in redeeming their Google Cloud codes and guided students with doing GEN AI Arcade Games, enabling them to access valuable resources and further their learning.
The event concluded on a high note, with attendees feeling inspired and motivated to continue their journey in programming and technology. The sessions provided valuable insights, practical knowledge, and a sense of community, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and continuous learning.
