"Diwali in the Arcade" by GDG On Campus MAKAUT is a dynamic GenAI-focused event, created to address the needs of learners completing Google Cloud's Skill Badge programs: "Develop GenAI Apps with Gemini" and "Streamlit." This session aims to foster an interactive learning environment, providing essential guidance, support, and resources for participants working on these badges. As we delve into these skill badge labs, the session encourages hands-on participation, collaborative problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of GenAI fundamentals. The festive Diwali season adds an extra spark, making this gathering not only educational but also enjoyable.
What Are Skill Badges? Skill Badges from Google Cloud offer a series of guided labs and challenges designed to build real-world expertise. The badges we’re focusing on in this session, "Develop GenAI Apps with Gemini" and "Streamlit," cater to a variety of learners—from beginners to those with some technical background. Both badges guide learners through labs that teach the fundamentals of GenAI, model deployment, and Streamlit-based applications.
Event Breakdown
1. Warm-up & Introduction (30 minutes):
Introduction to GDG On Campus MAKAUT: Kick off with a brief overview of GDG's mission to promote tech learning and community building. Explain how this session aligns with our goals of fostering practical skills and expanding knowledge in GenAI.
Understanding the Badges: A short walkthrough of the two Skill Badges, covering their objectives and prerequisites. Highlight the modules included in "Develop GenAI Apps with Gemini" and "Streamlit" and discuss the learning outcomes of each badge.
2. Overview of Labs in "Develop GenAI Apps with Gemini" (60 minutes):
Core Lab Concepts: Explore foundational topics covered in the Gemini Skill Badge labs, including GenAI models, custom app deployment, and data processing pipelines.
Guided Lab Walkthroughs: Provide an in-depth demonstration of each lab, explaining step-by-step instructions and essential code segments.
Key Challenges and Solutions: Focus on common challenges participants face, particularly in the Challenge Labs, and provide actionable solutions and best practices.
3. Deep Dive into "Streamlit" Labs (60 minutes):
Fundamentals of Streamlit: Explain the role of Streamlit in building intuitive data and machine learning web apps. Cover its syntax, app deployment, and customization.
Lab-by-Lab Guidance: Similar to the Gemini labs, walk through Streamlit-specific labs, demonstrating how to leverage its features to build GenAI interfaces.
