"Himatang" is a Waray word meaning "awareness" or "clear vision." It ties directly to UI/UX design, emphasizing the importance of creating accessible, user-friendly experiences with a deep understanding of users' needs, particularly PWDs. The event is a two-part event that highlights the importance of inclusive UI/UX design this upcoming June 13 & 14, 2025. The event will be held at Mapua Makati - lobby from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, focusing on accessibility through the lens of the Waray culture of Samar. It is a two-day event that comprises of the following:
Day 2: Pagtuman han Accessibility ha Disenyo - UI/UX Developer Workshop
Building on the knowledge from Day 1, this hands-on workshop will guide participants through implementing accessibility features in UI/UX design. Developers and designers will work on practical exercises, applying WCAG principles to create digital interfaces that prioritize usability for everyone.
