"Himatang" is a Waray word meaning "awareness" or "clear vision." It ties directly to UI/UX design, emphasizing the importance of creating accessible, user-friendly experiences with a deep understanding of users' needs, particularly PWDs. The event is a two-part event that highlights the importance of inclusive UI/UX design this upcoming June 13 & 14, 2025. The event will be held at Mapua Makati - lobby from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, focusing on accessibility through the lens of the Waray culture of Samar. Day 1: Pagsabot ha UI/UX – Understanding Accessibility in Design

This session will introduce participants to the fundamentals of UI/UX, with a strong emphasis on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Through real-world examples, attendees will learn how to evaluate websites for accessibility, understand the challenges faced by PWDs, and gain insights into designing more inclusive digital experiences.
