Overview
The orientation and core team selection event was successfully conducted on the 9th and 11th of September as part of the Student Induction Program. The goal of the event was to introduce students to our community, present opportunities for their growth, and select our core team members and domain captains for the year.
Sessions Summary
Three informative and engaging sessions were conducted across two days:
Two sessions on 9th September.
One session on 11th September.
Each session aimed to showcase the diverse opportunities available within our community and highlight how both students and our team could mutually benefit from this collaboration.

Web Development

Competitive Programming (CP)

UI/UX Design
What We Offer: We emphasized what students can gain by joining our community, such as:
Hands-on experience in various technical fields.
Mentorship from experienced members.
Opportunities to participate in workshops, hackathons, and other events.
What Students Can Bring: We also discussed how new students could contribute:
Bringing in fresh ideas and creative solutions.
Participating in organizing and running events.
Sharing their knowledge to build a stronger, collaborative community.
Community Fun and History: A key part of the presentation was showcasing the history of our past events, achievements, and the sense of community that we have fostered. We highlighted the fun and camaraderie that our members experience by being a part of our group, from hackathons to socials.
Student Response:
The sessions received an overwhelming response, with a footfall of approximately 1500 students. Many students showed genuine interest in joining our various domains, eager to learn and contribute to our growing community.
Core Team and Domain Captains Selection:
Following the induction sessions, a separate meeting was held for the selection of domain captains and the core team reveal. With the full presence of the Google Developer Group (GDG) team, we discussed and finalized the captains for each domain, ensuring that our leadership team is composed of motivated and capable individuals ready to take on challenges for the upcoming year.
Conclusion:
The orientation and core team selection were major successes, laying a strong foundation for the year ahead. With the enthusiasm shown by the students and the strong leadership of the core team, we are excited to move forward and create more impactful events and opportunities for growth.
