The Intro to GenAI Study Jam began with a warm welcome and the traditional lighting of the lamp (Deep Prajwalan) to mark the beginning of an exciting session. The event was organized by GDG GESCOE to introduce students to cloud computing and the role of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in the fast-evolving field of Generative AI.
Our speaker, Rushikesh Bhatjire, then took the stage to guide the audience through an engaging introduction to cloud technology. He provided a clear and concise explanation of what cloud computing is and how Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers unique tools and services for building cloud-based solutions. He walked us through GCP’s capabilities, emphasizing its scalability, flexibility, and powerful AI/ML tools.
Following this, we introduced the audience to Qwiklabs, a hands-on learning platform that allows users to practice working with Google Cloud. This part of the session demonstrated how students can build real-world cloud skills through practical labs, without needing prior experience in coding.
Additionally, we took some time to explain the Google Developer Group (GDG) and its role in fostering tech communities. We clarified why Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) have been phased out, highlighting how GDG continues to offer students valuable opportunities for learning and growth.
Lastly, we outlined the structure of the campaign, giving participants a preview of the exciting sessions and activities ahead, including hands-on labs, quizzes, and more in-depth exploration of cloud and AI technologies.
