About this event

Join us for an insightful two-day workshop on "AI and the Quran," by Ali Zahid Raja, where we delve into the powerful applications of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Islamic studies. Participants will learn how to scrape, process, and analyze Quranic text using AI tools.

On Day 1, we will cover the fundamentals, including an introduction to AI in Islamic studies, data preprocessing, text processing, and summarization techniques.

Day 2 will focus on advanced applications such as building a Quranic search engine, dataset processing for chatbot integration (surface-level RAG), and NLP-based similarity scoring. We will also discuss future possibilities, including ethical considerations and bias in AI models.

By the end of the workshop, students will receive practical deliverables, such as Tafasir comparison using NLP, and hands-on experience with Jupyter Notebook and Google Colab.

Whether you're an AI enthusiast, researcher, or someone interested in Islamic studies, this workshop will equip you with the tools to explore AI's potential in understanding religious texts.
