We kicked things off with a brief hands-on introduction to Arduino microcontrollers, some essential components LEDs, resistors, breadboards and explored the variety of boards available (from the classic Uno to the compact Nano).
We then took on another project to display some of Arduinos capabilities to the participants: an ultrasonic radar project. By wiring up an ultrasonic distance sensor and servo motor on real breadboards, we programmed our Arduinos to sweep and detect objects, displaying real-time distance readings like a mini radar system. Participants left having seen both the basics of embedded electronics and a fun, interactive project that brings sensing and motion to life!
